Arts groups relieved at 6.9% cuts but told worse is to come
"Arts organisations in England were today given lower than feared funding cuts of 6.9% but warned the real pain may come in 2012 and beyond.
All 850 of Arts Council England's regularly funded organisations (RFOs) - opera houses, dance companies, theatres, galleries and so on - will receive the same cut in 2011/12, which is less than the 10% they had been expecting.
